PHOTOGRAPHS OF UNION MEMBERS AND HISTORY, AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND SITES

Scope and Contents

Summary: This series consists of photographs, mostly reproductions, detailing the history, people and projects of Local 156. The depictions of job sites are taken from a variety of sources, including historical photos and postcards from elsewhere in Special Collections, or from official organizational sources. Most of these photos do not include captions, but rather are included to give the reader a sense of change in New Brunswick's architectural landscape. Many members of Local 156 are identified in photos at job sites, community events, and a 1995 Retirement and Awards Dinner. However, many other members are not identified. Captions are handwritten in pencil on the back or selvage of photos, by the archival processor, with information supplied by Mr. Clancy. The reader should consult the Exhibition Catalog (Available in Box 1, Folder 1) for more information on selected photos used in the exhibition.
