Scope and Contents

Arrangement: Arranged in several alphabetical sequences (some topical, some by correspondent's name) for the period 1945-1953; beginning 1955, grouped by year and thereunder arranged chronologically.

Summary: Correspondence with constituents and with other members of the U.S. Congress relating to proposed legislation. The series includes both letters received and letters sent, the latter consisting chiefly of form letters reporting on the status of a particular bill or resolution.

The legislative correspondence from Case's terms in the U.S. House of Representatives is indexed by name of correspondent in a card file included in the series. This index is selective, and does not include the less significant correspondence (such as postcards), nor does it index the occasional printed items found together with the correspondence.
